A municipality the size of a county, one road that matters

Chatham-Kent swallowed the whole of the old Kent County, so a 'Chatham pickup' can mean a street near the Thames, a concession outside Ridgetown, or a Wallaceburg driveway up toward Lake St. Clair — and the plan barely changes with the address, because everything here funnels to one road.

That road is the 401. Your chauffeur joins it and stays on it to the 427 ramp at Pearson: open running toward London, traffic building through Woodstock and Cambridge beyond it, and the peak-hour Milton stretch deciding whether the day comes in at 2 h 40 or nearer 3 h 40. Free-flow the drive measures 156 minutes — and on a flat fare, a slow hour out there costs you nothing.

The 1:15 a.m. pickup, treated as routine

Distance rewrites the clock out here: being inside the terminal by 5 for an 8 a.m. international departure means the car leaves Chatham around 1:15 a.m. We run that as an ordinary shift — the service operates 24/7 — and the working habit is settled: confirm the evening before (online booking at /ride/ needs three or more hours of lead), fix the door time, and sleep while the overnight 401 runs empty. An evening flight turns the trip gentle instead: a relaxed late-afternoon start, arrival around dinner, nobody setting an alarm.

VIA gets you to Union — your flight leaves from Pearson

Chatham does have a VIA station on the Toronto–Windsor corridor, and for a downtown Toronto trip the train is a fair option. For Pearson it's incomplete: the train terminates at Union, not the airport, so you'd still be moving luggage onto a connection for the last leg — and matching sparse departure times against a fixed flight time from 275 km away leaves little room for anything to wobble.
